The New Year and the important elections to follow in June, and especially November, provide us Republicans a unique opportunity to reverse the negative economic, political, and cultural environment which has intensified with the dominance in California of the overwhelming Democrat majority. Nationally, the policies of the Obama presidency, are worrisome both domestically and internationally.

The positive perspective is that circumstances provide us the opportunity to reverse these trends. In order to be effective, we must organize more constructively and intensely on the local “grass roots” level which for us is the Central Committee, the group of Republicans who register voters, get out the vote and support Republican candidates.

We are fortunate to live in a Republican Majority region. We in Amador along with our surrounding seven rural counties will be in a newly formed Assembly District, number 5. We need to be sure that a solid Republican wins this seat!

Redistricting has caused a change in our Congressional District. Dan Lungren will no longer represent our district and it looks like we will get to vote for Tom McClintock for our Congressman. However, Dan deserves all the support and good words he can get from us by way of contributions, letters to the editor, etc.

As you can see, there is plenty happening soon, and you can assist in many ways, as you choose. Your registration and votes are a must. Joining the Central Committee or volunteering at our headquarters in Martell or at one of our events would really help. We also need volunteers with communications; newsletters, website, & public announcements. Currently our resources are very limited. In order to accomplish all the outlined tasks, your contribution of time and money are vital.
